Heritage Arts Exhibit

Opening Reception

This May, the Bigfork Art & Cultural Center will open a special Heritage Arts Exhibit honoring the rich traditions, techniques, and stories carried forward by our region’s artisans. Featuring the work of local makers in fiber arts, weaving, basketry, blacksmithing, beadwork, glasswork, woodcraft, and more, this exhibit highlights the skill, history, and cultural continuity woven into each handcrafted piece.

We are honored to include Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribal (CSKT) artists, whose heritage arts and cultural knowledge deepen the narrative of place, memory, and tradition in the Flathead Valley.

Through functional objects, heirloom techniques, and contemporary interpretations of traditional craft, the Heritage Arts Exhibit celebrates the artisans who keep these practices alive, rooted in history, yet thriving through modern hands. This exhibit invites the community to experience the beauty, resilience, and artistry that define Bigfork’s creative spirit.

This Exhibit will continue through the end of JUly with new artisans and work monthly.
